A customized StartPage search that removes overrated popular sites. It also removes sites that require registration to view articles (Quora and Facebook for example).

StartPage is a privacy-oriented search engine launched in 1998. It is owned by the Privacy One Group (based in the USA). This company apparently in advertising and data-collection business. However, so far the company appears to be honoring a commitment to privacy.

The most private search engines are probably MetaGer, SearX and SwissCows.
