There are two important events coming up for Bitcoin:
Bitcoin ETF Decisions
There are several SEC Bitcoin ETF decision dates in October. If those decisions are delayed, the final deadlines are in January 2024. Perhaps most important is the BlackRock EFT decision. BlackRock is the world’s largest asset manager, and its approval of a Bitcoin ETF could signal to other institutional investors that Bitcoin is a legitimate asset class worth investing in. This could lead to increased demand for Bitcoin and potentially higher prices.
Bitcoin Halving
The upcoming Bitcoin halving event in early 2024 is expected to impact the price. Historically, halving events have led to significant price increases due to the reduced rate at which new Bitcoins are created.
October ETF Dates
- Oct. 10th: Global X bitcoin ETF filing first deadline
- Oct. 16th: Bitwise bitcoin ETF filing second deadline
- Oct. 17th: iShares(BlackRock), VanEck, WisdomTree, Invesco and Wise Origin(Fidelity) bitcoin ETF filing second deadline
- Oct. 19th: Valkyrie bitcoin ETF filing second deadline (this might be the most important, as it’s the SEC’s last chance to decide).
