Some Notes On WordPress Themes That I’m Currently Testing

Here are some WordPress themes that I’m currently testing:

Bricks

Bricks is a new WordPress theme with a unique approach to page building (uses native WordPress blocks). You can create custom layouts as you would in a page builder (like Elementor), but Bricks outputs very lightweight Gutenberg Block code instead.

Blocksy

Blocksy is a lightweight modern theme. Very enthusiastic support and good-looking starter templates. Two people run the company.

GeneratePress

GeneratePress is a fast, lightweight WordPress theme. A great choice for minimalists and speed freaks. Others might find this theme too spartan.

Tom Usborne, a developer from Canada, built GeneratePress. It is well-updated and supported.

Neve

Neve is a fast theme with a clean design. A big company with many support resources backs it.

Astra

Astra is a fast and fully customizable WordPress theme. It is one of the most popular WordPress themes. The total Pingdom load time was 243 ms with a total page size of only 26.6 KB. Not quite as fast as GeneratePress, but almost as fast. It does have more functionality overall, and it’s actively updated and well-supported.

Blank Canvas

Blank Canvas is a free, minimalist theme for single-page websites. It’s a child theme of Seedlet, another free theme by Automattic.

As you might expect, the post and page layouts are blank by default. This theme doesn’t provide headers, navigation menus, or widgets. What you see in the WordPress editor is what you’ll see on the front end.

You can use Blank Canvas for personal and professional websites without any license.

Artisan Themes

Artisan Themes look promising…nice designs. Will be checking into this one.
