Many large financial institutions have been making moves into Bitcoin recently.
Blackrock and Fidelity filed for Bitcoin ETFs. Mastercard filed crypto patents, and Deutsche Bank got a crypto custody license.
Citadel launched a crypto exchange backed by major investors. The IMF is promoting central bank digital currencies as an alternative to decentralized cryptocurrencies.
This increased institutional interest in crypto comes after recent crackdowns and lawsuits against cryptocurrencies by U.S. regulators. However Bitcoin was not involved in any lawsuits. The U.S. government has been supportive of Bitcoin in recent years.
