YT-DLP offers new features and patches while also keeping up to date with the original project.
Compared to youtube-dl, this program works many times faster and is able to download videos from more websites. According to the creator of the project, it’s also much better at grabbing larger playlists.
YT-DLP also incorporates SponsorBlock (an open-source API for skipping sponsor segments in YouTube videos).
