Notes On VPN Service
Private Internet Access is another good choice for a P2P users. It is no quite as reliable and polished as ExpressVPN, but is less expensive.
The company operates out of the United States with gigabit gateways in the USA, Canada, UK, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. I’ve been testing their VPN service for about 12 months now, and I’ve had no problems. I use it continuously now, and I don’t notice any lag when browsing the web, or downloading files. They are also one of the least expensive private VPNs, with rates at $39.95 year, or $6.95 per month.
In regards to logging user activity, the company says:
We absolutely do not maintain any VPN logs of any kind. We utilize shared IP addresses rather than dynamic or static IPs, so it is not possible to match a user to an external IP. These are some of the many solutions we have implemented to enable the strongest levels of anonymity amongst VPN services. Further, we would like to encourage our users to use an anonymous e-mail and pay with Bitcoins to ensure even higher levels of anonymity should it be required. Our core verticals are privacy, quality of service, and prompt customer support. We will not share any information with third parties without a valid court order. With that said, it is impossible to match a user to any activity on our system since we utilize shared IPs and maintain absolutely no logs.
Their VPN service supports all the major platforms: Window, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS and Android. They support the following VPN protocols: PPTP, IPSEC, OpenVPN and L2TP. You can also configure Private Internet Access to work on a DD-WRT router or Tomato router (via SSL/OpenVPN) for constant security.
Their VPN client also has handy features like DNS leakage blocking and an “internet kill switch” (a feature that shuts off your internet connection if your VPN connection goes down).
For payment they accept credit cards, Paypal, almost any Gift Card, Amazon Payments, CashU, Google Wallet, OKPay, Bitcoin, and Liberty Reserve,
The service costs $6.95 per month, or $40 per year.

We travel and live between russia and the US. We were recommended HMA as a good vpn for using Netflix and torrenting abroad. Would this be a good choice for russia? Is HMA any good for torrenting in the US?
HMA is not particularly good choice for torrenting. They keep logs of user activity. I would recommend Private Internet Access for $40 per year. However, if you are doing all your torrent in Russia, perhaps HMA would be sufficient.
Thanks for the update. We will give it a try.
We will not share any information with third parties without a valid court order.
THAT is why you should use a VPN from any country ot affiliated with the USA.
It is far too easy to force companies in the USA and it’s allies to spit up info on it’s users or add tracking software to your connection and account.
Also, under US Federal law, the copyright head hunters do not need a warrant to spy on you nor get you into trouble,
Because: Requires your personal info when signing up, doesn’t respond to request for refunds.
Any VPN service that ask for money will get some sort of financial information from you unless accepting bitcoins. Privacy from paid services is not very robust.
I don’t know to what extend PIA can screen you from the “Copyright head hunters”
Well, it depends what type of privacy you need, PIA will certainly shield you from DMCA lurkers. You can pay with a temporary or disposable credit card. See this article: http://www.greycoder.com/vanilla-visa-an-inexpensive-anonymous-credit-card/
Not sure why the author of this page keep recimmending Private Access as the best for P2P for 2012/2013?
THE SPEEDS TO uTorrent and Azueus ARE TERRIBLE , even thought I CONNECT with the listed countries that provide the Proxies with their given Ports.
NOT sure what Trackers you connect to ,mine are all Private Trackers, some Public, I tested with, both have amazingly SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW speeds!!
Private Internet Access works fine for me — I get my full speed while torrenting via a public tracker. See this article were I compare the speeds of various VPNs: http://www.greycoder.com/the-fastest-vpn-services-for-2013/
Hello Greycoder,
As a VPN service provider we would like to be reviewed and added to greycoder.com.Please inform us how to progress.

The service was recently hacked, and is apparently keeps logs, and may also be spamming it’s users.
In my opinion PureVPN and VPN4All a better option and so is TorGuard if you want to download torrents.
