Perplexity AI’s Deep Research is a new tool that simplifies complex research tasks. With it, you can get detailed reports in 2 to 4 minutes. It runs many searches and checks hundreds of sources.
In the test of “Humanity’s Last Exam,” Deep Research scored 21.1%. This was better than Google Gemini and OpenAI’s o3-mini. Although it fell short of OpenAI’s Deep Research, the latter is much slower and costs $200 per month. You can read a review of the “Humanity’s Last Exam” here.
Perplexity Deep Research is now online. They will soon add it to Mac, iOS, and Android apps. Free users can make up to 5 queries daily, while Pro subscribers ($20/month) can enjoy 500 daily queries.
To use Deep Research, choose it from the drop-down menu when you submit your query in Perplexity. This will generate a detailed report that you can export as a PDF or share as a Perplexity Page.
