Perplexity AI is the most advanced artificial intelligence platform I’ve found. Perplexity searches the web for every answer it provides and includes linked citations for every sentence it produces. It’s available for free.
Perplexity is designed to assist users with academic research, content creation, and everyday inquiries. It uses OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 models and Microsoft’s Bing search engine to summarize search results.
According to their Privacy Policy, they do not knowingly collect any sensitive information from users. They also take measures to protect the personal information they collect, storing data securely on Amazon Web Services. Users have the option to opt out of data collection for AI data collection.
Perplexity is available both as a web app and as a mobile app on both Android and iOS platforms. The mobile app offers features like guided AI search, voice input, and thread follow-up for continued conversation.
Perplexity Pro
Perplexity Pro is a premium version of the platform that offers enhanced features. It offers users the choice between several advanced AI models, including Perplexity, GPT-4, Claude-2.1, and Google’s Gemini Pro.
Perplexity Pro users can make use of over 300 daily Copilot queries. Copilot, the interactive search companion of Perplexity, excels at handling ambiguous queries by asking clarifying questions as needed.
Perplexity Pro also allows users to upload multiple files, including PDFs, CSVs, and images, enhancing the interaction with the AI.
Perplexity Pro is available for $20 per month or $200 per year, with the annual plan offering a savings of $40 annually. The yearly plan also includes a free 7-day trial.
Perplexity Pro can be used on multiple devices simultaneously, as the Pro account is linked to the user’s email used to log into Perplexity.
Perplexity Pro also offers dedicated support. Users can directly communicate with the Perplexity team via a special email or through the Discord channel.
