Brave: A Fast Browser With Built-In Ad-Blocking

Brave is a new web browser that has been released by the creator of Javasript, Brendan Eich.

Brave is free and open-source, and it is based on the Chrome web browser. Brave has an excellent ad-blocking mechanism that makes web page load quite fast. It is especially quick when load script and media intensive pages from the likes of Amazon or eBay.

Brave also features a built-it HTTPS Everywhere and a blocker that deletes Tracking Pixels and Tracking Cookies.

Brendan Eich says there is a plan to pay publishers in micro-payments (as a substitute for ad revenue). Currently, you can choose whether to block ads, or see “ads that respect your privacy, or contribute to sites directly.

Overall, the speed and integrated privacy features of Brave make it compelling. I will watch closely to see how the micro-payment plan works out.
