I think you'll find this dnscheck article very eye-opening too. Especially about the browsers, Firefox,Chrome etc using the WebRTC and how they can find your ip from this being enabled in those browsers.
Will be implementing this too.

In reply to Matt.

Matt,

VPNs should be unaffected by the data retention law -- except for VPNs hosted in Australia. You can use ExpressVPN on separate router, and only connect to that router when you need to watch movies or torrent. Logging into online accounts shouldn't be a problem, unless you are worried about ISPs scanning your internet traffic at the packet-level.

I would like your opinion on,
1. Australia .. The 2 year data retension law about to become law.
2.The upcoming tpp to be signed by a lot of countries to support USA companies.
How do you think this will affect people in australia with regards to watching movies and tv series via vpn and kodi? Will it still be ok to do it?

I am thinking of using a vpn router/accelerator along with say your recommended expressvpn.
I would like to connect all my normal everyday things direct to my isp.
I would then run kodi via a proxy through the vpn accelerator so that only when I use kodi will I use the vpn. As I am only worried about Kodi.
Will this be secure enough or should I run all my traffic through the vpn?
I belive if I useonly vpn, I will be vunerable due to my online accs.
I am also worried about my dns leaking, will expressvpn solve that and will my proxy cause that to fail.
Basically I am worried that the above 2 mentioned laws will cause my vpn to become useless.

thanks

Overall Rating Comp speed US/UK servers Customer suroppt I've been subscribed for nearly a year now and I've seen overplay grow a lot. Aside from the odd login timeout I've never experienced a problem. I recently took the opportunity to upgrade to their latest OverPlayVPN software, which throughly sets them apart from other providers I've used before

Hi,All in all, it's good with no slow-downs in speed.Only problem, it seems to choke some times, like it loeoss connection (thus, leaking true identy?). When this happens, pages don't get resolved & you have to try again. In rare occations, you have to disconnect & reconnect for it to get going again.Other than this, it does a very good job.But I don't know how serious this choking business is in terms of security/ privacy. If I would pay for it? If the chocking does not represent a security/ privacy threat, price is very reasonable for what you get. Thanks How To Hide IP for the chance of trying this out.
