Yes, this is true for many new products - you need to buy a subscription to a service (for a free service, your data is the product), and all of your data flows through the service provider.  A key reason we developed the XOnet and XOkey is so that data only travels between your laptop and your XOnet at your home network. It is just as if you are accessing the web from your home (plus you get to access your home network, something VPN service providers can&#039;t do).]]></description>
